Welcome

The patterns that helped you succeed can become the ones that keep you stuck

I help people understand and change the deeper patterns that success may have required them to develop in order to succeed. Many capable people have learned to cope by overworking, staying in control, pushing through, intellectualising, or solving problems alone. These strategies may once have helped them thrive, but over time they can become the very patterns that keep them stuck.

Welcome to MyMagellan Therapy

I work collaboratively with my clients to explore how patterns developed, what they protected, and how they may now be costing them the change they seek. Together, we create a space where insight becomes action, and where change is both emotionally grounded and practically lived.

As an executive coach and former City lawyer, I am familiar with navigating systems of power in organisations, families and competing cultural contexts. As a therapist, I understand how what once helped the capable, high performer succeed can also lead to burnout, anxiety, loneliness, emptiness in success and feeling stuck. My work bridges psychotherapy and executive coaching to support people who carry responsibility, pressure and achievement, and who want more freedom, meaning and connection in their lives.

Who I work with

For people whose capability masks what they carry

Many high performing individuals look capable on the outside, yet privately carry pressure, responsibility, emotional strain or a sense of being alone with what they hold. I work with people whose success has required patterns of behaviour that once paid off, but now keep them stuck, disconnected or repeating cycles they want to change.

High Performing Professionals and Leaders

For those used to navigating systems of power in organisations, families or competing cultural contexts. People who carry responsibility, drive and achievement, yet feel burnt out, anxious, lonely or unsure who they are beyond performance. Often these are individuals whose success masks a deeper sense of emptiness, exhaustion or emotional disconnection, and who want a confidential space to explore what is happening beneath the surface.

Individuals and Couples Navigating Patterns of Change

For people who find themselves repeating patterns of behaviour that lead to frustration, conflict, emotional distance or feeling stuck. This includes relationship dynamics, career transitions, identity shifts, grief, anger and the personal cost of achievement. The work focuses on understanding how these patterns developed, what they protected, and how they can be loosened so new ways of relating and living become possible.

Organisations and Senior Teams

For leaders and professionals who want a relational approach to doing business, one that recognises the human impact of responsibility, pressure and organisational complexity. This is a confidential space for those who do not want to perform, advise or manage, but instead reflect, understand and recalibrate.

The signature of my work

My approach bridges coaching and therapy

Many people find that coaching and therapy each offer something valuable, but also leave something missing. My work brings these together so change becomes both emotionally grounded and practically lived.

Coaching

Creates momentum, focus and action, but can sometimes move too quickly, without the deeper insight needed for sustainable change.

Therapy

Creates emotional understanding, depth and clarity, but can sometimes stay reflective, without the action needed to make change real.

Where the two meet

Where the two meet

My approach integrates both: psychological depth with practical movement. Insight becomes action, and action is rooted in understanding, so change becomes real in your life, work and relationships.

Approach

Ways we can work together

My work sits in the space between psychotherapy and executive coaching. Below are the main ways we can work together.

Individual psychotherapy & coaching

For adults and older adults. Burnout, anxiety, loneliness, self-worth, emotional disconnection, grief, anger, perfectionism and work related stress.

Couples work

Relationship patterns, emotional distance, communication breakdown, life transitions, and the impact of achievement on intimacy.

Executive & leadership coaching

With therapeutic depth. For leaders and professionals navigating identity, responsibility, succession, career transitions and the personal cost of success.

Organisational work

A confidential space for senior professionals, with the potential for tailored programmes designed around your organisation.

The approach

From insight to lived change

01

Reflect

Slowing down enough to notice your thoughts, feelings and patterns with curiosity rather than criticism.

02

Understand

Exploring how those patterns developed, often as strategies that once helped you succeed.

03

Change

Translating insight into concrete shifts in how you live, work and relate, so change becomes real rather than theoretical.

How we work

A simple, unhurried beginning

01

Free Chemistry Session

A 15 to 30 minute conversation to understand what you're bringing, whether my experience is the right fit, and whether you feel comfortable working together.

02

Initial Block of Six Sessions

We agree a focus and work together for six sessions, followed by a review.

03

Longer term or Deeper Work

If helpful, we move into more open ended work to explore deeper patterns and longer standing themes.

Ancillary Services

Additional support for real world change

Alongside psychotherapy and executive coaching, some clients benefit from additional practical support that helps them understand stress, recovery, financial transitions and behavioural patterns. These optional ancillary services complement the therapeutic work and provide real world tools for high performing individuals.

Wearable Supported Insight

For clients who want to understand how stress, recovery and emotional strain show up physiologically, wearable technology can provide helpful data. Devices such as Oura, Whoop or Apple Watch can track sleep, heart rate variability, recovery patterns and stress responses.

This information can be integrated into coaching or therapeutic work to support behavioural change, burnout recovery, emotional regulation and sustainable performance.

  • Sleep and recovery tracking
  • Stress and HRV insights
  • Behavioural pattern monitoring
  • Optional data supported coaching sessions

Financial Wellbeing and Transitions

Many high performing individuals experience stress, identity shifts or emotional strain around financial transitions. This may include redundancy, career change, compensation changes, succession, wealth related pressure or navigating complex organisational or family systems.

This optional support focuses on financial wellbeing, decision making clarity and the emotional impact of financial change.

  • Support during redundancy or career transition
  • Navigating compensation or role changes
  • Identity shifts around wealth or success
  • Stress related to financial responsibility
  • Referral pathways to trusted financial professionals

Optional Add On Support Packages

These services are not therapy or coaching themselves, but optional additions for clients who want practical tools alongside their psychological work.

  • Data supported coaching using wearable insights
  • Stress and recovery monitoring
  • Financial wellbeing sessions
  • Structured support during transitions
  • Access to referral networks
